Deep in Arthurs pass is a hidden gem, Mount White Station.  

I was invited in January 2026 to join a group of likeminded adventurers to this stunning part of the South Island on a self-guided horse trek.  I had no idea what to expect and was met with the most beautiful scenery, with landscapes as far as the eye could see with hills that disappeared into the clouds.  Mount White Station borders on department of conversation land, and opens up their glamping huts to walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders.  For me getting off grid 100% for 5 days was the perfect start to my year, I would totally recommend this as your next adventure.
